TWO MILESTONES OCCURRED TODAY AT GIANT CENTER,
“THE RAISING OF A SCOREBOARD AND THE SEAT INSTALLATION”!
“THE RAISING OF A SCOREBOARD”
There are several companies involved in the process of building the
scoreboard:
• Contractor for the scoreboard hoist: Hoffend & Sons, Inc.,
Victor, NY
•Contractor for the scoreboard shell: White Way Sign, Chicago,
IL
•Contractor for the videoboards: Mitsubishi Diamond Vision,
Lawrenceville, GA
The overall dimensions of the four-sided scoreboard are: 19’-6”
x 24’-0”
There will be three (3) advertising panels per face, with two (2)
at the top measuring 2’- 2” high by 8’- 10”
wide, one (1) scrolling advertising panel mounted at the bottom and
one (1) sponsor mounted above the video display board.
The video display boards are Mitsubishi Diamond Vision LEDerboard
8 type screens.
•The screen size for the four display boards are: 7’-
6 3/4” high by 10’- 1”wide.
•The effective pixel pitch is 8.4mm.
•Both vertical and horizontal viewing angles are optimal (170
degrees) so that spectators can see the screen from almost anywhere.
Mitsubishi Diamond Vision LEDerboards are also found in the following
arenas, to name a few:
•ARROWHEAD POND OF ANAHEIM- ANAHEIM, CA
•PALACE AT AUBURN HILLS- AUBURN HILLS, MI
•AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA- MIAMI, FL
•STAPLES CENTER- LOS ANGELES, CA
•PHILIPS ARENA- ATLANTA, GA
•GM PLACE ARENA- VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA
The scoreboard installation also includes the installation of two
(2) auxiliary scoreboards, two (2) single faced shot clock/ game timers,
two (2) time of day clocks, locker room clocks and hockey goal lights.
The installation of the front-end equipment to operate the videoboards
began today, August 12, and is being installed by Diversified Systems,
New Jersey. “THE SEAT INSTALLATION”
The company responsible for the seat installation in GIANT Center
is Irwin Seating Company, Grand Rapids, MI.
The capacity for hockey is 10,500 in GIANT Center.
This equates to approximately 2,800 capacity for the upper bowl and
7,700 for the lower bowl and Suites.
